A notice of termination is the document that must be given to the other party when either a tenant or landlord wishes to end a tenancy.

The format and contents of the notice are prescribed by law and must be exactly followed.

A notice of termination that does not exactly meet the requirements specified is deemed to be invalid and is therefore considered not to have been served in the eyes of the law.
